Unless stated otherwise, all used, antique and military surplus rifles are sold in as-is condition without any warranty. Upon request, we can arrange to have any firearm inspected and test-fired by a gunsmith for $40 plus cleaning charges. Otherwise, these firearms must be stripped and cleaned by the buyer prior to using the firearm. Military surplus rifles often have military (cosmoline) grease in the barrel and action which may cause improper operation if not cleaned prior to use.

The Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk I is a refined version of the classic Lee-Enfield rifle, introduced by the British Army in 1941 during World War II. Chambered in .303 British, it was designed to be simpler and cheaper to produce than its predecessors while maintaining the same 10-round magazine and smooth, fast bolt-action system that made the Lee-Enfield famous.

The No. 4 Mk I was quickly adopted by British and Commonwealth forces and saw widespread use during the war. It was known for its accuracy, reliability, and rapid rate of fire, which made it a key asset in both the European and Pacific theaters. The No. 4 Mk I featured several improvements over earlier models, including a more robust rear sight and a simpler, more cost-effective design that made mass production easier.

After World War II, the No. 4 Mk I remained in service with British and Commonwealth forces through the Cold War, and its legacy continues today with collectors who value its historical significance and dependable performance.
